Study Breaks follows the affinity-space question to campus: the cafeteria-table dilemma at university scale, and what it feels like to be asked which table is yours. The useful half is the examples, including Bowdoin’s Multiracial Student Union and Maryland’s Multiracial and Biracial Student Association, real programs showing what institutional support looks like when it exists. For families with a student heading to college, it doubles as a scouting report: the presence of a group like these tells you something about a campus. Belonging, it turns out, can be built on purpose. The examples prove it.
