Who’s Latino? Amid Growing Numbers, the Definition Is Expanding

NBC News built this special report around a simple question with no simple answer: who counts as Latino? The portraits reach from a biracial family in Wisconsin to a Black Dominican in Massachusetts, a Cuban of Lebanese descent, a Mexican Chinese Californian, and a Brazilian German in Arizona. Each profile chips away at the idea that there is one way to look, sound, or be Latino. It was published around the time this site went quiet, so most of our readers will never have seen it. This is the introduction. The photography alone is worth the visit.
